This question can unequivocally be answered with yes. Especially with regard to the discontinuation of feed-in tariffs for PV systems at negative electricity prices, electricity storage for self-consumption is becoming increasingly economical.

Industrial companies, in particular, are heavily burdened by high electricity prices in Germany. An energy storage system helps reduce costs. Even without PV, the energy storage system can, for example, charge electricity from the grid into storage at night and be used in a controlled manner for peak shaving during production. This way, peak loads can be avoided.

The answer here is a clear yes. Especially with overproduction of electricity, Germany sells it expensively abroad. Industrial energy storage systems can absorb this surplus electricity. When electricity prices rise again, the stored electricity can be used as balancing power. This also relieves the strain on the power grid.
